She has been married to him since 2012, through four clubs, two national teams and one sacking. Almost everything the public knows about her has come from him.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s wife is Natalie Hasselbaink, a British woman born in March 1981. She married the Dutch former Chelsea and Leeds United striker in 2012, the year before he took his first job in management. She is 45 and he is 54. The couple have three daughters, and he has an older daughter from a relationship that came before the marriage.
Since the wedding he has coached at four clubs, worked for two national teams, won a promotion, lost a job over a newspaper investigation and come within one match of taking Suriname to a World Cup. Natalie has been there for all of it, and has said one thing about it in public.

The 2012 wedding at Coworth Park
The Sun has reported that the couple married in 2012 at Coworth Park, a hotel near Ascot in Berkshire. The date has never been made public, and neither of them has given an account of how they met.
A year later Hasselbaink was in Belgium, managing Royal Antwerp. It was the first of six jobs in eleven years.
Four daughters, two countries
He took over at Burton Albion in November 2014 and had the club promoted to the third tier by the following April, further than it had ever been. Asked about the run by BBC Radio Derby, he answered by talking about his children.
He had four daughters, he told the BBC, three living in England and one in the Netherlands, and they came to most matches. “They are very supportive and I need that,” he said.
Miah, Lauren and Khloe are the three he shares with Natalie. The eldest of the four has never appeared publicly alongside the rest of the family.
Two of the girls went into films
Miah and Lauren both appear in Netflix’s Matilda the Musical, released in 2022. Miah had already played the young Anna Mae in Tina: The Musical in the West End, and has since worked on The Man in My Basement, a film starring Willem Dafoe. Both sisters are represented by Mary Liz Management.
Their father has been clear about where he sits in that. His daughters are not footballers, he told Covers, so he has had to work his way into their world of drama and performing arts, “which I do with all pleasure.”
October 2022: a premiere, then a company filing
Hasselbaink resigned from Burton in September 2022 with the club near the bottom of League One. On 5 October he was at the Royal Festival Hall for the premiere of Matilda the Musical at the BFI London Film Festival, photographed by agency photographers alongside Natalie and their three daughters. He was there because two of the girls were in the film.
Thirteen days later, on 18 October, Companies House records show that JFH Media Limited was incorporated with Jimmy and Natalie Hasselbaink as its two directors. She resigned on 3 November, sixteen days after taking the post. Her name appears on no other public register.
Strictly, and the one thing she has said
Hasselbaink joined Gareth Southgate’s England coaching staff in March 2023 and left in August 2024. The following summer he was announced for Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with the professional dancer Lauren Oakley.
He said he had signed up to show his girls that he could put himself in a “vulnerable position” and learn something new at 53. His daughters, he added afterwards, had pushed him to do it.
He went out in the fifth week, on 26 October 2025, the night after scoring a personal best of 30 for an American Smooth to Prince’s “Purple Rain.” On the spin off show It Takes Two he was shown a video message from home. Natalie spoke first.
“We’re so proud of you and your Strictly journey,” she told him, before thanking Oakley for bringing out a new side in her husband. Hasselbaink was in tears by the end of it and said he had no words. Those are the only words attributed to Natalie Hasselbaink anywhere in public.
Suriname, and a run at the Palace Theatre
In December 2025 Hasselbaink joined the coaching staff of Suriname, where he was born in 1972 and which his family left for the Netherlands when he was six. The team went closer to a first World Cup than it ever had, topping its qualifying group with a match to play before losing in Guatemala City and dropping into the intercontinental playoff. Bolivia beat them 2-1 in March. The tournament finished in July without them.
What comes next for the family is a theatre. Hasselbaink announced on Instagram this month that Miah will make her adult West End debut in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre, writing that he was beyond proud of her. The production begins its new run on 9 October.
