Rodgers married Brittani in spring 2025. She has stayed out of public view ever since, and he says she gave him the go-ahead for his final season.
Yes. Aaron Rodgers is married to a woman he has identified only by her first name, Brittani. They eloped in spring 2025, and as of October 2026 they are still together. No photograph of the two of them has ever been published, and they have never been seen together in public.
Rodgers, the four-time MVP, is 42 and in his 22nd and final NFL season, his second with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His earlier relationships played out in public, and this one hasn’t. When they met in 2017, she would make “funny comments,” he recalled, like “I would never live in Green Bay” and “I don’t want to be a player’s wife.” This year she was the one he asked before signing on for one more season.

When did Rodgers get married?
The exact date has never been made public. After his first practice with the Steelers on 10 June 2025, a reporter asked about the band on his ring finger. “Yeah, it’s a wedding ring,” Rodgers said. The wedding, he added, had been “a couple months” earlier, which puts it in spring 2025.
The public first heard of Brittani on 23 December 2024. Rodgers, then with the New York Jets, mentioned on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that there was “one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn’t showed up yet.” His old Packers teammate A.J. Hawk asked, “Spears?” “Not Britney Spears, no, this is Brittani with an ‘i,'” Rodgers replied. In April 2025 he told the same show he was “in a serious relationship,” and on 2 May he turned up at a Kentucky Derby gala in Louisville with a dark band on his ring finger.
“We eloped,” he told his Steelers teammate Cam Heyward on the Not Just Football podcast in September 2026. “It was quick, but I had a little something set up when I was over there, a surprise for her, but that’s about all I’m going to say about that.”
Who is Aaron Rodgers’ wife?
Almost everything known about Brittani has come from Rodgers, much of it from two long interviews, on McAfee’s show in March 2026 and on Heyward’s podcast in September 2026. She went to the University of Texas and was living in Austin when they met. According to Rodgers she has no social media, and she has never given an interview. Her surname, age and job have never been made public.
She has a younger sister, Mia. When Rodgers took a bargain one-year deal with Pittsburgh in 2025, he said he had been “taking orders” from his new sister-in-law. “She’s 20 and she’s the brains of the family,” he told The Athletic that August, smiling, before admitting the joke was “partially serious for sure.”
How did they meet?
They met in Austin in 2017, when she was about to move back to Europe. “I knew that there was something crazy special about this, and I wanted to be with her,” Rodgers said in the March interview. On the podcast he added: “My biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just proposing right there.”
They kept in touch, but she got engaged to someone else. Rodgers dated the racing driver Danica Patrick and was later engaged to the actress Shailene Woodley. Neither relationship lasted, and Brittani is his first wife. He says he was “emotionally unavailable” for seven or eight years because he had already met “the person that changed my life.” They got back together “at the end of 2024,” he told McAfee.
Why she stays out of sight
Rodgers says she wants it that way. “My private life is staying private. I’m with somebody who wants to be private,” he said on McAfee’s show in June 2025. She “didn’t sign up to be a celebrity,” he added, and any photograph of her will come out only if she decides to share it.
He also points to safety. In the March interview he said he had “legitimate stalkers,” that photographers had flown drones over his house, and that he had heard of “a bounty on getting a picture of my wife.” The couple no longer live at the beach. “Now it’s not just me, it’s me and her,” he said.
Is Rodgers really married?
Nothing reported so far contradicts his account. The doubts rest on what people haven’t seen.
| What has been reported | What else is known |
|---|---|
| Jets wives Maranda Williams and Jessie Vera-Tucker told People in August 2025 they never saw him with a partner | By his account, the couple only reunited at the end of 2024, late in his last Jets season |
| An unnamed Steelers wife told the Daily Mail in November 2025 that she is “like a phantom” | Rodgers says she has chosen to stay out of public life |
| The Daily Mail said it searched several state records and found no marriage licence | The wedding was “over there,” in his words, and a marriage abroad may not appear in US records |
| A photo said to show the couple spread online in May 2026 | It was fake, posted by a parody account |
Pat McAfee told the Daily Mail in March 2026 that he had not met her either. His former Jets teammate Zach Wilson has congratulated him, though. After the Steelers beat Miami 28-15 on 15 December 2025, Wilson hugged him on the field and said, “Congrats on getting married,” People reported.
When the subject came up on the podcast, one of the hosts cut in: “Wait, does she exist?” Rodgers asked whether anyone would be raising it “if I had been a good soldier and been fully vaccinated,” a reference to the backlash over his Covid stance.
Her say in his final season
Rodgers expected 2025, his first season in Pittsburgh, to be his last. When Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach after a playoff loss to Houston in January 2026, he thought “that was probably it for me in Pittsburgh.” Then the club hired Mike McCarthy, his coach for 13 seasons in Green Bay.
He re-signed with Pittsburgh on 16 May 2026. At the start of training camp on 28 July, he told reporters: “I talked to the wife. She said, ‘You can do one more year and see if it works out.'” Once you’re married, he explained on the podcast, “it’s not just ‘I think I’m going to play this year.'”
There is “zero debate,” he says, that this is his last season. The Steelers are 3-2 after beating Indianapolis 34-22 on 11 October, and on 25 October they play New Orleans at the Stade de France, the first NFL regular-season game in France.
Has his wife met his family?
Rodgers hasn’t said publicly whether she has, though he gives her credit for the reunion. He spent most of the past decade estranged from his parents, Ed and Darla, and his brothers, Luke and Jordan. In 2023, at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, he reconnected with his father after nearly nine years apart.
On the podcast he described meeting his parents at the house he had built for them in Chico, California, on their last day there before they moved to Nashville to be near their grandchildren. Over the next month or so he saw Luke, then Jordan.
“When I say that my wife has completely changed my life, for the better, there’s no comparison to any time I’ve ever said those words before,” he told The Athletic in August 2026. She isn’t in the photos he posted on Instagram on 20 July 2026, from a “bonding week” in Nashville with his parents, Luke and Luke’s children.
Are they having a baby?
Not yet. “We are not expecting yet, but I cannot wait to be a father,” he told the Washington Post in an interview published on 2 September 2026.
Two days later, in an interview on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, he talked about being “Uncle Aaron” to his brother’s children. “The more I’m around them, the more I get excited, and so does the wife, about having some of our own,” he said. After football, he added, “I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family.”
ESPN’s Mina Kimes found the “pregnant wife” phrasing odd, Us Weekly reported. He used it again on 1 October, when Al Michaels told Prime Video viewers that Rodgers had said a year from now he would be either “tending to my pregnant wife” or “taking care of my newborn.”
When it is all over, he told Heyward, he wants to “blend into obscurity, which I really look forward to after this season.”
