Joe Rogan’s wife is Jessica Ditzel, a former cocktail waitress. They have been married since 2009 and have three daughters.
Rogan, the comedian who hosts The Joe Rogan Experience, had argued against marriage for years. In July 2009 he told the Palm Beach Post why he had gone through with it. “I had to,” he said. “Not really had to, but you know, she made a baby. It’s like, ‘God, all right, I’ll sign a silly legal contract.’ What she did was way more of a commitment.”
Jessica, who now goes by Jessica Rogan, doesn’t give interviews. Most of what the public knows about her comes from her husband, and he usually mentions her in passing, while talking about something else.

How Rogan met Jessica
On his podcast in 2023, talking to the chef and writer Eddie Huang, Rogan said the two of them met in a bar. He also said she was “easily as funny as me”. For a comedian, he added, being with someone who isn’t funny can be a bummer.
By July 2008 the Orange County Register was describing her as Rogan’s long-time girlfriend. Their first child together, Lola, had been born that May.
Jessica also has an older daughter from a previous relationship, Kayja Rose, born in 1996. Newsweek has reported that Kayja’s father was Keven “Dino” Conner, a singer in the Houston R&B group H-Town. Conner died in 2003. Rogan adopted Kayja in 2009, the year of the wedding.
Four months in the Colorado mountains
In September 2009 the Denver paper Westword reported that Rogan had just moved to the area. The family were living outside Boulder, and in October Rogan told the paper that one of their dogs had been carried off, probably by a mountain lion.
They had planned to stay for a year, and perhaps for good, Rogan later explained to Dan Carlin, a guest on his podcast. “But, along the way, my wife got pregnant and we were at 8,500 feet above sea level. And it was just, it’s brutal.” He added that the Denver area is said to have high rates of premature births and low birth weights because of the thin air. After four months, the family went back to California.
Their second daughter, Rosy, was born in 2010. The family settled in Bell Canyon, California, and moved to Texas in 2020, when Rogan bought a $14.4m house on Lake Austin, according to Variety.

In 2012, when Kayja was 15, Rogan told Rosie O’Donnell he had “worked really hard on making sure we talk to each other as openly as possible, even about boys”.
He has also said he doesn’t think children should grow up famous. “I do not think children should be developing in front of the world,” he said when the podcaster Chris Williamson was his guest in 2024. “I think that’s an insane amount of pressure.”

In January 2025, at a candlelight dinner in Washington on the eve of Donald Trump’s second inauguration, she took a photo of her husband standing with Trump and his daughter Ivanka. Ivanka posted the picture on Instagram and credited “the one and only” Jessica Rogan.
What Rogan has said about Jessica
Six years after the wedding, Rogan still had no time for marriage as an idea. “Marriage is dumb,” he told Rolling Stone in 2015. His own marriage worked, he said, because “she lets me do whatever I do. That’s how we get along well.” He also had a prenup: “I’m ridiculous and dumb, but I’m not stupid.”
He spoke about her at more length in July 2022, on the podcast of the computer scientist Lex Fridman. Earlier that year Rogan had faced a backlash over Covid-19 claims made on his show and over old clips of him using a racial slur. Asked how his family had dealt with it, he replied that his wife was aware of it. “I tell her don’t ever read,” he said, adding that he never lets her “read negative articles to me”.
More than an hour later, Fridman asked about balancing hard work with a relationship, and Rogan’s answer came round to her. “You wanna be with someone who’s like, genuinely kind. And that’s one of the things that I really love about my wife,” he said. He called her very smart and hard-working, “a dedicated, disciplined person”.
In February 2023, eight years after telling Rolling Stone that his wife lets him do whatever he does, he said much the same about her. On episode 1936 of his podcast, the political commentator Krystal Ball called a brand of leggings ugly, and Rogan was asked whether he would let his wife buy them. “I don’t have any say on what she buys,” he said. “That’s how we work. I’m a non-criticiser of my wife’s behaviour.”
