The person who started this magazine is Eleanor Buckley, a journalist who spent years working across British media before deciding that the publication she wanted to read did not exist yet. That is a common enough reason to start something. What is less common is being willing to hold it to a standard once you have.
Eleanor built Headline Magazine on a straightforward editorial principle. If something is worth publishing, it is worth reporting properly. That means a journalist has worked the story, not summarised it. It means a source has been contacted, not quoted from a press release. It means an editor has read the copy before it goes live, not a publishing queue.
